Croatia’s coastline is now one of Mediterranean’s popular Gulet yacht sailing holiday destinations as it is a nice alternative to the already popular Mediterranean and Aegean gems. Relatively newly discovered by the yachting fraternity, Croatia is scattered with idyllic islands to explore aboard a traditional Gulet yacht. Croatia’s Adriatic coast with over a thousand islands is the second largest archipelago in the Mediterranean Sea, after the Aegean islands,
Protected natural UNESCO sites and towns with a rustic, at times medieval feel, tiny island fishing villages, local heritage sites, Makarska wineries, secluded beaches with crystalline waters, uninhabited islands and streets lined with small cafés set in Venetian architecture along with typical Mediterranean weather, make for a perfect cruise.
Whether you wish to do a leisurely week long Gulet Cruise or have a couple of weeks to thoroughly explore this wonderful region, you would mainly have two options in terms of itinerary; sail South or sail North.
Sailing South will take you on a voyage discovering the islands of Adriatic sea and Kornati archipelago.
The Northern route will cover Ugljan island, situated in the immediate vicinity of Zadar, which is one of the larger islands in the Adriatic. There are a couple of towns as well as a few smaller villages and several beautiful sandy beaches for swimming breaks on the island. We insist that you have never seen such uniuque, beautiful and green islands anywhere in the Mediterranean. Each day of your Blue Cruise will leave you with visual feasts of islands adorned with olive groves, pine trees and rich forests. Certainly, the heavenly joy of being in untouched nature aboard a Gulet sailing like a swan will engulf you. The natural harbours sheltered from the winds have plenty of anchorages and bays.
Dubrovnik typically serves as the embarkation or disembarkation point of Dalmatian Coast Gulet yacht cruises. The city is famed for its Ancient City Walls and as a point where part of the fictional city on the Game of Thrones television series was filmed. Dalmatian coast has a well-defined peak season and off season. June to August is the peak season when the sun is bright, typical summer feel is at its peak. October to April is the off season. Many of shops, restaurants, attractions are closed and options for island hopping are limited. We suggest that May and September are the best times to visit Croatia where you arelikely to get sustantial discounts on Blue Cruise Croatia charter fees.
